In 1851 he established a private cemetery for foreigners residing in Colima; the cemetery was located on the road leading to San Cayetano Factory and is now called Venustiano Carranza.

It was agreed that all partners cover a prearranged monthly fee for maintenance expenses of the cemetery.

Also appointed a caretaker, cleaning and watering of trees and plants that had been planted.

The last burial was in 1944, after several foreigners were exhumed at the request of their families and taken to their home country.

In 1999, H. Colima City Council resolves to rescue the Pantheon and transform it into the Garden of Remembrance to prevent outsiders from invading it.
