Behind the cathedral is the old square trade (1856), later called municipal market (1906), after independence Garden (1914), and now bears the name of a great teacher Colima: Gregorio Torres Quintero, educator Colima, creator of onomatopoeic method beyond the borders of his country, a figure that clearly shows the development of pedagogy Mexico during the late nineteenth and twentieth century. The person of Colima pays tribute to a monument in this garden.
